The Class of 2016 proposed contributing something to the school in the form of a Saint Marcellin Champagnat statue outside the new front office. An impression of the statue is shown above. The statue will be fibreglass atop a large rough quarried rock. The original Champagnat Statue mould is now stored in Goulburn.. The large stone for the base was donated and delivered by two Old Boy (Pete, ’94, and John Lianos, ’95). The stone is pictured in the gallery. The quote to accompany the statue is as follows and is fitting to a graduating class:
“We who are at the commencement of our work are but raw stones thrown into the foundation. One does not use polished stones for that. There is something marvelous in the commencement of our Society. What is marvelous is that God has wished such people to accomplish his work”.
Saint Marcellin Champagnat
This statue was gifted to the School by the Class of 2016 on the occasion of their graduation and the Westmead Campus Jubilee (1966 – 2016)
You can combine selections to reach the exact amount you want to donate. For example for $25 will be 1 x $20 add to basket then 1 x $5 and add to basket.
